El Nicho, is a marvel of nature, dozens of cascades and natural pools in a practically virgin place, hidden among the mountains in the county of Cienfuegos. It is without doubts, one of the more beautiful places in Cuba.

It is a paradisiac place where the green of the vegetation is combined with the rivers, the cascades and the picturesque rural towns. Thanks to bridges of improvised rails, the ascent of the visitors becomes less tortuous until arriving to a lookout point that allows to contemplate an entire green world to your feet. In fact, in this place they are the cascades of the stream El Negro, where the water falls from more than 30 meters and impacts against the rocks, forming vortexes of foam that give to the atmosphere a persistent fog.

A journey between mountains to enjoy and be in direct contact with the nature, to observe the flora and the fauna of the place and at the same time to enjoy a bath in the river at the end of the trails. 

Diversity of ferns and orchids among other plants will be observed in the path among the well conserved gallery forest. Approximately 400 meters of the forest is the entrance of the cave "El Calvo" where "El Negro" stream is born, whose main natural attractiveness are the pools, the jump of the "desparramaderas" and the glass pool.
